It is 1230. Ive been up for a few hours and i have a headache. Sadly it is not hangover related so i cant even say that at least it came with a good time. Im embarrassed to resort to this again so soon, but its random stars of crap again friends.
* Im going on record as saying that I. LOVE. MY. NEW. CABLE. and that the ability to access premuim channels on demand is one of those creations that ranks up there with sliced bread and penicillin.Ive managed to watch the entire first season of "Flight of the Conchords", a lot of "Curb your Enthusiasm" and am starting to watch "dexter". Here is the thing about dexter. When it came out, I was TOTALLY intrigued by the idea of it, but the first episode was somewhat....lackluster. On the plus side, dexter is hot and i love the crime stuff. On the other side, the side stories seem completely contrived. Like his sister is supposed to be this tough talking vice cop. Which means that she says "hell" and "fuck" in a forced way throughout normal conversation. Ok. I get it now. Im going to keep watching before I decide because im never keen on pilots.
* Ive been up for two and a half hours. So far my day consisted of catching up on blogs, eating a power bar, a banana and some garlic pita chips, discovering we are completely out of sweet n low, and watching a lot of television. Gills day has involved some serious cleaning. He randomly comes in to shame me. I laugh obligingly with self-deprecation. It works because we are both happy.
* The reason im not being brow beaten into helping is because Im supposed to be writing many many notes. Which I am going to do. Realy soon.
Three. Now I have three stars. Maybe i will come back and add more stars soon-

Live Blog Monday
Good morning friends! Its raining here. I realize this is not a popular sentiment but I LOVE rainy mondays when im not in the field. (otherwise they completely suck, well no more than any other rainy day in the field really) And what would be better on a rainy monday than yet another attempt at a live blog? (which of course will probably be aborted due to my tendency to NEVER follow through on live blogging) So here we go (in the random slashes of crap style you've become accustomed to here!)
- I ate my cereal with a damaged spoon today. I do not know how the spoon got damaged. It kind of makes me sad about myself that I allowed the spoon to continue to scratching my tongue because i was too lazy to get up and get a new one.
-I lost my cell-phone.
- (mini- post ahead:) Did I tell you we got a land line? It was meant for the sole purpose of faxing . But when the folks came to set it up we needed an actual phone. The cheapest phone I found was a Pirates of the Caribbean corded phone. Thus, Norm's private line was born. Not to taunt the lost fans of normtasia (we've been pressuring him to return. He says he will start again any day now) but the only thing more adorable than norm blogging is norm on the phone. Particularly leaving messages. (If you want a phone message from norm send an email to my address with your number. Or go to Ishamelesslypimpmysonout.com) We thought this would help him learn numbers as well as phone manners. Interestinly, the bill collectors have found my listing and call him. Being that we've disavowed the phone, we let him handle these calls. Its awesome because he does not bother covering the phone and he hollers "Mom its the people who want to take all your money, what do i tell them?" and we say "whatever you like". ANd he tells them that they should put us on the do not call list. (props to gretty for perpetuating another generation of entitled credit abusers in our family!)
- Ok I need to work on the School Packets That Will Not Die. Ill be back...
ok 5:05pm
- While the honey mustard pringles are exciting to have, I really need to stop drinking the cans. I should not be capable of eating an entire can of pringles in one sitting. In twenty minutes. Im beginning to think the "limited time only" thing might be for the best as today is the first day I did not drink a can since Ive gotten them.
-Its tomato season here. Fresh off the vine tomatos grown in my dad's garden. Its freaking nirvana.
- The spoon thing really did not work out well as my tongue has been all cut up today.
- For the record, I did not get team pestilence. We are...the ballistics. Im trying to get past it. Rumor has it we have these awesome deep purple shirts. That helps.
ok here is one update anyway. Maybe there will even be another soon!

Live blog wednesday

Hey folks, Gret had a family emergency (nope, not telling, go to her blog for clues)so Im working from home until about three. Why not live blog? How do I propose to do this? Well by herding the need freaks outside the second the turnip wakes up. Yeah he is still asleep. Miracle? Not so much...more like he was up from 430am to 630 am. Why? You might ask? Or I hope you do ask so I can show you this:
This is what happened while i went to the bathroom at 330am. It is bit blurry so allow me to explain. On the very left side of the picture you will see Gill. Yes I do believe he is hanging on to the edge of the bed. He is covered with the mauve sheet and the cream patterned comforter. Norm is the yellow mass that is perpendicular to him. What is the bright light? You might think its the lamp but I think its actually the beatific glow from this face:

So how does this little late night logistical problem involve the turnip? Who is the only person in our house to sleep where he is supposed to sleep? Well, I decided to seek out another bed. The only made bed was in the turnip's room. And of course somewhere in the back of his subconscious, he sensed the presence of mommy. Within minutes he was standing in his crib screaming....and so we were up from 430 to 630. Ok Im going to work a bit, then i will reward us all by attempting an explanation of the culture of wal-mart for our across-the-pond correspondent Lina.
Just a bit longer, Miss Lina. Now its time for Embed-a-me-me!
My darlingest of ashes tagged me.
Here are the rules:
I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
1. I have very long toes. I like to think of them as Piano playing toes. I use them to pick things up. I think of them as lithe and sexy.
2. I secretly believe Gill screws with my mind way more than he will ever admit. I think he exploits my chaotic disorganization for his own gratification. On one level its frustrating but its also kind of an interesting challenge.
3. I do not generally yell at my children. And NEVER in anger. (this is not restraint. this is a sign of me being completely whipped by them)
4. My bedroom is almost completely clean right now. Ive made the bed for three days in a row. This is the first time in my adult life that I made the bed three days in a row.
5. In terms of personal limitations, I have no trouble dealing with mental illness or delays. I can even deal with the biological side effects involved in lack of body function control. My personal limitation is that I am embarrassingly alarmed when I notice a person with missing limbs or extremities. I become obsessed by the limb and its presence in our dynamic. I worry about the karmic implications of this constantly.
6. Ive solved my lack of sexual fantasy problem: Andy Garcia. I dont know how I forgot him in the line up. (Thanks for the suggestions folks, but andy was already in the bull pen by that night. I will keep your recommendations in mind for future reference though!)
7. I will never dye my hair blond no matter how much Id be tempted because my mother dyes her hair (or did before she disowned us!) and i could not stand the comparison.
8. I think about Ash a lot more than she realizes. I feel guilty about not being more available and hope she knows that it is not from a lack of love!
ok I must take a shower before the training...
8.

Monday Musings
Sorry about the long pause there friends. Weekend madness has ensued. Its party season now and the whirlwind is beginning. The two birthday parties of the weekend were lovely. One was a bowling alley party involving about twenty little girls ranging from 6-8 years and a smattering of boys. Needless to say I was kind of dreading that, not because of the birthday girls but well...for the obvious reasons. But as fate would have it, the girls were way less screamy and the alley way less loud than i expected! The other birthday party was AWESOME! Very relaxed and social with good food and good company and an amazingly beautiful baby celebrating her first birthday. Stretched the turnip way past his point of tolerance but it was worth it! Yesterday we went to see Shrek with the female Fabus as Senor Fabu was working overtime. Just delightful I tell you! Anyway, Ive been thinking about my monday blogging. I realize im kind of negative on mondays which is not really reflective of how i feel about mondays. Secretly? I kind of like Mondays! They are almost never as bad as I anticipate them to be on sundays. So I think instead of bitch and moan monday (which may come back with a moments notice) and missing mondays (which kind of made me sad!) Im going to try monday musings. Random observations on a monday. So here goes:
- I am really really puzzled by these two characters on Camp Laslo. They are large and purple and have these halos of flies that follow them everywhere. What the hell are these things? Any input is welcome.
- I was handling a crisis call from home this morning and the kids were being surprisingly cooperative. In the midst of the call, turnip toddles over and climbs up on my lap. He has the remote control and he starts talking into it like a phone. Im watching him and thinking, man i could probably switch phones and the client on the other end would probably not even notice. Nothing says Im making a difference in the world like that kind of realization....
- As a frequent sheetz customer/devotee, I cannot figure out why all the pennsylvania sheetzes have espresso bars and all the Ohio ones do not. It does not seem to be based on old sheetz versus new sheetz. I want to know why this is.
This might end up being a liveblog because its taken two freaking hours to complete this due to all the distraction. Stay tuned friends!

Sunday night live blog
Well folks, another riveting sunday night as we find one more original way to put off writing case notes. Random liveblog slashes anyone? well don't mind if i do....
640pm- Gill is leaving for Fucking St. Mary's in a few minutes. I think he is very satisfied about his weekend. He got a lot of crse action (why am i compelled to blog about the crse action, yowza time lately? i think because of last week being valentine's day and that Jennfactor brought to light and reminded us all of the upcoming Steak and BJ day. Ahhh the holidays....makes you all warm and tingly inside.) Plus he reached nirvana yesterday morning when Norm shouted to him "Daddy you are making everyone sad and miserable!". Gill silently shouted the word "yes!" and punched the air in glee.
- Gill is now out the door. I can still hear his car pulling away and both kids are screaming apparently over a chair.
- Did you ever notice how incredibly butch sandy cheeks is on sponge bob? I mean im ok with that but id like to see it developed a bit more. Like perhaps sandy and Mr. Krab's daughter Pearl could hook up?
- Tonight is Oscar night. I think the only Oscar movie I saw this year was "Little Miss Sunshine" (which was freaking HILARIOUS). Did Pan's Labyrinth get nominated? Im guessing it did because there is no way my town would have brought it in other wise. Sadly we are a "movies ain't meant to be read, if i wanted to read id have got me a book" town. I have a particular Oscar crew i hang with on oscar night. I am sadly not going to be with them tonight. Because of FUCKING ST. MARYS.
ok here is a start.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 810pm- Sigh. This day has taken a surprising turn towards the demoralizing. I did not think that two small children could create so much destruction so quickly. I think this would be more of a testament to my own stupidity as opposed to the reality I face on a regular basis.
- Do you think its more helpful if I liveblog bottom up? Or top to bottom?
- Some very stressful things (of which i dare not speak) (ok it involves losing a VERY important thing but not my important thing) just happened. I feel empathically sick to my stomach.
- And the turnip just shit himself. Which is a pure act of malice. This child never shits at night. Its truly a punishment shit. I waaaannnnntttt Gillllllllll.....

live blog on a snow day
Lest we forget shameless whoring for valentines:

Get your own valentinr
Anyway, Gret is snowed in, my afternoon appointment is snowed in and now my Mom-sources are saying my school kids might be getting sent home early. So its all around a snow day! I figured id make the time go faster via live blog.
- It is 1230 now. We are waiting for the turnip to take his nap. Norm and I have started timing our days around turnip's naps. We try to put them off so he sleeps longer because somehow we convince ourselves he will be up less time in the evening. Its all about the hope here.
- I miss the days when i could smell a nice smell in my home and not have that alarm trigger. For example, the turnip was sitting at my feet and a soothing waft of lavendar floated up through the air. Immediately my stomach sank. Why? Because of course it meant he was eating the lotion.
-Ok my goals for today are to finish a bunch of stories (including when it is and isnt a good time to discuss your imaginary raccoon and why we cant growl at visitors even when we want to) (Im sending the latter one to my brother with the social skills deficit) and catch up on case notes. I look forward to entertaining us both (or at least myself) throughout the day!
425- Sorry, I got a little sloppy. On the plus side, I realized if i dont look up things are much happier here in my living room. On the minus side, the grape jelly is going to have some serious ramifications.
- In the depths of winter depression, sometimes just telling someone who loves you a secret can make things better all around. Ive been on both sides of this in the past 18 hours and i can say its been extremely life affirming. I heart my people so much!
- Im so torn about the adderall. I love how i focus. I hate how i get mild headaches and seem to focus too much to breathe. And apparently I seem a little....edgy. I see Gret shaking her head chastising me mentally for not being consistent with it. I did come to the realization that i might not be up all night if i take it at 4am when i go to the bathroom. Today was the first day for this. So far so good.
- On the gretty note, she is very missed here at chez panflutemaster today. Norm said, "I will not feel better until I see her beautiful face again". Which was adorable. And then growled at me and snapped when i told him it was adorable. Which was not. Adorable.
Ill be back soon!

bitch and moan monday- a live blog
Well its the end of the month friends. We all know what that means. A sea of casenotes, a short temper and squalor all around me! So being that nobody would see me today, I thought why not live blog my bitching and moaning for the day! I shall do this and it shall be good. And I shall use random slashes. And I shall veer from bitching and moaning should it serve me to do so. After all, its the end of the month, we can probably color anything I come up with as a bitch or a moan!
1ish- two things i did not want to say to norm today: "maybe its not a good idea to make a picture out of your bubble gum." and "please dont eat your yogurt in the clothes basket. Daddy will come unglued."
- I am thinking of expanding my tivo selections. I am ready to add a new program I think. Maybe even two. Does anyone have suggestions besides grey's anatomy? I already watch the office, CSI and the law and orders. Im thinking about heroes, brothers and sisters or possibly house. Feedback?
- I freaking hate the show lazy town. If you don't know what Im talking about consider yourself lucky. It is a compilation of really ugly puppets and the single most annoying child I have ever observed (and bear in mind, i work with kids with behavior disorders). Stephanie (and this includes but is not limited to all the little assholes on the welches grape juice commercials). She has pink hair and chews up the scenery worse than judy garland on a drinking binge. I think a lot about bitch slapping her. It makes me feel better.
-Speaking of judy garland, i heard this great story that she was drunk at a party and threw a bunch of lawn furniture into the swimming pool and screamed "there is no fucking rainbow!". I love this image. It makes me happy too.

- I just found this picture for my readers' edification. The more I look at it, the more I think she looks like a boy in drag. I think I would find her more likable if she was a boy in drag.
3 ish- Slash break time! Ok John Edwards' teeth are way too big and perfect to be acceptable in a vice president. I wonder if this cost his team the 2004 election Or maybe it was because despite the fact that I watched all three debates and can see his face clearly, I can never remember the guy who actually ran's name. Kemp right? Kemp. Also known as "the other guy".
- One would expect a documentary on Benito Mussolini and General Franco not to be so....abrasive. I was so interested but the narration was so harsh I had to turn away to something more soothing like the relaxing voice of the guy who narrates "City Confidential". Truth be told though, relaxing is probably not the right word. He is more scintillating. The way he described my dead town as "sitting on the edge of the river like a rusted out and abandoned pick up truck" makes everyone in the city sound...sexy.
- I wonder if the bill collector who calls from the unknown number and leaves me messages regarding "personal business" actually believes that I dont know what he wants. Even if I had the money, I dont think I could talk to him now. Too much water under the bridge.
430pm-Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock are splitting up? I cant believe it! They had so many weddings, I thought for sure they would be married forever.
-Add to things I didnt want to have to say to norm today. "Do you know why my butt is covered in gum? Is it supposed to be covered in gum?" I should be time coding the live blog shouldnt i?
744pm- Just got home from a lovely dinner and visit with my friend Kathleen and her sons. She is due to have another son on the 17th of January and we were picking out names for her baby. I suggested she auction off the naming privilege on E-bay. How bad could it be? No matter what they came up with there has to be a cute nickname...
-Chaos is ensuing here at the panflutemaster house as we have conflict involving a hot wheels set and missing stickers and pieces. Our baby of perpetual dissatisfaction is whining and norm has just this minute has become hysterical because his father will not give him coffee.
